Losing weight is amazing. Isn’t it?
But the process of losing weight is equally worst. Because it takes time, a lot of determination and hard work to lose weight. People fail to maintain consistency in that and then they search for lazy ways to lose weight. While you can go around looking for various ways to lose weight, there are some tricks that you can include in your plan to get the best out of your weight loss journey.
Let me make it clear. These tricks will aid you in your weight loss journey or you can say it enhances it. You can’t completely depend on these, and just sit back and relax hoping to shed pounds of weight. These tricks alone won’t make any difference to your weight.
You can think of them as almonds a student eats while studying with the purpose of remembering things better. But this happens only when he makes the effort of studying, right? Same goes here.
Yes, these do a great job of mentally motivating you to lose weight.
Apart from it, these substances prompt some reactions in the body such as boosting up metabolism which is the main force because of which it helps in weight loss. All you have to do is to take a spoonful of it each day. Some things are to be consumed a little bit more than a spoonful and some a bit less than a spoonful, so I just rounded it off to a spoonful for the whole.
So what are these things that you just need to consume in such a small quantity for losing weight? Let’s head on to them below and put an end to your curiosity.
1. Burn more fat and Suppress appetite- A spoonful of coconut oil
A type of oil which is very different from the other oils which are not considered healthy. Here I am excluding olive oil from the other oils category. Yes, olive oil is very healthy and is actually the best oil a person can ever eat. Coming back to coconut oil, it can be used for eating, drinking, as a moisturizer; so in short, it is an allrounder.
And this all-rounder is helpful for your weight too. Yes, it is true that it contains more saturated fat than other oils but the type of saturated fat it contains is very different. It is healthy unlike the saturated fats in other oils.
It contains medium chain triglycerides which burn up more calories and fat. Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids which suppresses appetite and boosts up the body metabolism burning more fat.
Use it as your cooking oil or just eat a tablespoon of it.
2. Support the immune system- A spoonful of lemon juice
One of the best things to start your day is with is a glass of warm lemon water. Mixing the tablespoon of fresh lemon juice with water makes it less sour. The morning rush of lemon supplies vitamin C and boosts up the immune system. Having a properly functioning immune system is a requirement for losing weight.
Lemon helps in eliminating waste from the body. It is good for skin as well. This glass of lemon water makes you fuller along with hydrating your body. On top of that, lemon is a zero calorie food so it doesn’t add up any calorie to your diet.
Adding lemon to your water throughout the day alkalinizes your body if you are facing acidity problems.
3. Get Antioxidants- A spoonful of dark cacao powder
Dark cacao powder is amazing! It is packed with antioxidants and a ton of other nutrients. The antioxidants present in it have a positive effect on your digestion, less stored body waste leading to overall better functioning of the body.
The boost in your antioxidants helps with the body health and assists in weight loss. It’s a perfect substitute for your chocolates satisfying the chocolate sweet tooth.
Now if you are thinking that you can drink chocolate milk to get the same benefits, then please just don’t do it. Chocolate milk is loaded with sugar which just eliminates the entire healthy part of it. Dark cacao powder doesn’t contain any sugar, so it’s actually very healthy. And a spoonful is enough for a day.
You may not like to take a spoonful of it and munch that up, so add it to your healthy smoothies giving them a delicious chocolaty flavor. You can even prepare healthy chocolate milk by mixing cacao powder in a glass of hot water or some milk with no sugar added.
4. Better metabolism and blood sugar levels- A spoonful of Apple cider vinegar
There are numerous health benefits of apple cider vinegar. One of them is weight loss. Apple Cider Vinegar can act as a great tool for fast weight loss if consumed at the right time and in the right way. It prevents fat accumulation and improves the metabolic processes which make the fat burn faster.
Also, Apple cidar vinegar promotes satiety which saves you from over eating. It is very effective in regulating blood sugar levels as well. It’s just incredible.
Drink 2-3 Tsp(yes, teaspoon and not tablespoon) or 1Tbsp of Apple cider vinegar mixed with a glass of water around 30 minutes prior to your morning and evening meals or you can even sip the Tsp’s directly(though it will taste bad).
5. Get Omega 3 fatty acids- A spoonful of flax seeds
These seeds are high in fat. You must be thinking if it itself is high in fat, then how can help in weight loss. My friend, some high-fat foods are incredibly healthy owing to the type of fat they contain and actually help in weight loss.
Flax seeds contain a high amount of polyunsaturated fats which is a healthy fat. It is rich in omega 3 fatty acids (a type of polyunsaturated fat) which helps with the body weight and is even healthy for the heart. In addition to healthy fats, you will get some fibers from it too.
You can eat them as toppings on various dishes and desserts.
6. Burn fat and better digestion- A spoonful of ginger
I hate the taste of raw ginger. High five if you are the same. I am asking for a high five but eating ginger will actually be beneficial for you. It will help you get rid of fat. And actually, you don’t have to eat a spoonful of ginger straight up. Just add it to your dishes.
Ginger brings up an amazing new taste when added in dishes. It boosts up the metabolism which actually burns fat, instead of some water weight or muscle mass which makes you happy till the truth is unfolded.
Ginger helps with indigestion which is a reason for not losing weight.
7. For Digestive Enzymes- A spoonful of raw organic honey
Unprocessed honey contains digestive enzymes and antioxidants. These are not found in the processed ones which are generally found nationwide. In processed honey, these enzymes which are very helpful in digestion are lost. The antioxidants in raw and organic honey support your digestive system improving your chances of weight loss.
8. Overall health- A spoonful of fish oil
Ohh fishh! A rich source of so many nutrients. Fish oil is a boon for our health in numerous ways. Thus, it is beneficial for the overall health of the body. Just like ginger, it improves digestion. It combats inflammation.
The omega 3 fatty acids and certain other nutrients found in fish oil are beneficial for your cardiovascular system. Apart from the internal health, it also works on external health. It improves the hair health and glows up your skin. It reduces joint pain.
Fish oil intake can be fulfilled by taking supplements or eating more fish. Simple.
9. Better blood sugar levels- A spoonful of cinnamon
I haven’t tasted it raw. I have heard its kind of sweetish. And the irony is though it tastes sweet, it does not raise your blood sugar levels. Yes, every sweet thing in the world is not harmful and responsible for high blood sugar levels. Instead, cinnamon actually helps to regulate the blood sugar levels. It keeps your energy levels steady.
Eating it is simple. Add a spoonful of it to your smoothies, your delicious dishes to flavor them. Or what do you say about adding it to your morning lemon water?
10. For Fibers – A spoonful of chia seeds
Another healthy seeds, these have nutritional benefits similar to flax seeds. Chia seeds are extremely rich in healthy fats. Apart from fats, chia seeds also contain protein, high fibers, and some minerals.
Chia seeds promote weight loss and serve as a good topping for your healthy desserts. You can make a drink out of it by soaking it overnight in water and then drinking that water-seed mixture or drink in the morning. It also great for cooling down the body.
11. For burning fat- A spoonful of ghee or clarified butter
People believe that eating ghee will make them fat, they even associate with high cholesterol and heart-related diseases. While it is true that ghee makes you fat when consumed in excess, but it is also true that when consumed in a controlled amount it can help with weight loss.
Yes, even I was astonished when it first hit my mind. Conducting some research convinced me with the statement that ghee can help in weight loss. It contains medium chain triglycerides which burn body fat. Apart from weight loss, it boosts immunity, strengthens bones and keeps your hair and skin healthy. It is a rich source of omega 3 fatty acid which reduces the ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol and increases the ‘good’ HDL cholesterol.
A spoonful of ghee per day is an optimum amount to consume. As I have said earlier, an excess is harmful but a controlled amount can help you a lot.
These are the one spoonful foods which provide certain specific nutrients in a certain amount. Which of these are you planning to incorporate in your routine?
